The breakout session “Collecting, Handling and Biorefining Next Generation Feedstocks” during Wednesday morning events at the ACE Ethanol Conference and Trade Show in Milwaukee, WI, discussed the variety of potential feedstocks for the biofuels industry and how these choices will be tailored by the geography and project of the end user.
Spencer Swayze (Manager of Business Development for Ceres, Inc.), Mike Reese (Renewable Energy Coordinator for the University of Minnesota West Central Research and Outreach Center (WCROC)), and Larry Johnson (Consultant, North American Business Development Division for Inbicon), explored various research efforts underway to refine harvesting procedures and advance cellulosic ethanol production through efficient feedstock production, harvest, and application.
